Afra House Chefchaouen Review: Rooms, Rooftop Views & Booking
A complete guide to this characterful guest house in Chefchaouen’s blue Medina—with rooms, breakfast, rooftop views, verified location details, house rules and live booking access in one page.
Afra House at a glance
Our verdict: Afra House is a strong choice for couples, friends and independent travellers who want a small, locally styled stay inside Chefchaouen’s Medina. Its greatest advantages are the walkable location, attractive terrace and personal atmosphere. Travellers who require lifts, extensive resort facilities or accommodation for young children should review the policies carefully before booking.
Afra House is a guest house at Nº 159, Barrio Andaluz, Avenue Hassan I, near Place Outa El Hammam in Chefchaouen. The setting places guests close to the old town’s blue lanes, restaurants, small shops and principal landmarks. Rather than offering the scale and facilities of a large hotel, it focuses on a more intimate Medina experience with colourful Moroccan decoration, a shared lounge and a terrace overlooking the city and surrounding mountains.
Excellent central location
Outa El Hammam Square is approximately a two-minute walk away, while the Kasbah and Chefchaouen Medina are also within an easy walk.
Terrace and views
The rooftop terrace is one of the property’s most frequently praised features, especially for breakfast and views across the blue town and Rif Mountains.
Small-scale character
Rooms favour local atmosphere over standardised hotel design, with tiled floors, traditional details and double or twin configurations.
Highly regarded breakfast
Recent guest feedback repeatedly highlights breakfast and the warm service. Confirm whether breakfast is included with your selected rate.

Positive comments commonly centre on the hosts’ helpfulness, the proximity to the main square, the terrace, the breakfast and the property’s decorative character. As with many traditional Medina houses, individual rooms differ in layout, outlook, bed type and climate-control features. Read the description of the exact room you select rather than assuming every room is identical.
